Appointments - Primary Care physicians see patients by appointment and ask that you call in advance to reserve a time. Please describe your problem to our receptionists so they can schedule your time most effectively. If you become acutely ill and need to be seen on short notice, our staff will make every effort to arrange an appointment with one of us on that day.

Our schedules are sometimes affected by emergencies or urgent needs. By having your current phone number, our staff can contact you if an emergency makes it necessary to reschedule your appointment. We make every effort to honor all time commitments, and request that you extend the same courtesy to us by letting us know at least 24 hours in advance if you must cancel or reschedule.

Telephone Calls - You are encouraged to call with any questions you have on medical problems. We ask that you use the following guidlines:

1 - Please make calls during office hours to 331-9979. Our nurses are trained to answer many of your questions and, if needed or requested, will relay your questions to your personal physician. He or she will return your call at the earliest opportunity.

2 - After hours and on weekends, please limit calls to emergencies. You may call the emergency paging service at 331-1000 and your message will be forwarded to your physician, one of the other Primary Care Associates physicians, or another physician who may be covering for your physician.

3 - All prescriptions and renewals should be requested during office hours. For the best service, renewals should be requested through your pharmacist. For your protection, medications (narcotics, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, etc.) will be refilled only during office hours and not during evening hours or on weekends. Please allow two working days for these refills. As a general rule, we are able to call new prescriptions to a pharmacist only after a personal interview and examination of a patient.

Fees and Payments - Patients are expected to pay for professional services at the time they are received. Insurance matters can be complicated and confusing. We would like to assist you when questions arise (ask for CUSTOMER SERVICE).

FOR INSURANCE PLANS IN WHICH WE ARE PARTICPATING PROVIDERS:

  • Copays and deductibles are determined by your agreement with your insurance company. These must be paid immediately following treatment.
  • Services not covered by insurance become your full responsibility.

FOR INSURANCE PLANS IN WHICH WE ARE NOT A PARTICPATING PROVIDER OR IF YOUR INSURANCE CHANGES TO A PLAN IN WHICH WE ARE NOT A PROVIDER:

  • Full payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
  • We are not responsible for seeking reimbursement from insurance companies with whom we are not contracted. As a courtesy, we will file your insurance for you.
  • If you do not know if we are a participating provider for your insurance, please ask for CUSTOMER SERVICE.
  • If your insurance requires a referral (for specialist or certain procedures) it is your responsibility to obtain this through your physician PRIOR to making that appointment.

NOTE: It is your responsiblity to notify our staff of any changes in your insurance.
